Medical Student Rotations
The Emergency Department at UMC is a high-volume, Level One trauma center located in a highly desirable area of Tucson which is adjacent to The University of Arizona campus.
EMD 815T - Emergency Medicine
4 weeks only offered year round
Directly supervised/patient care
Prerequisites: Senior standing or consent of Departmental Electives Coordinator

The curriculum is structured and focused following the latest in educational methodologies. We think it is one of the best rotations available anywhere in the country. The rotation is limited to eight students per month and preference is given to UA students. Students who are in good standing may elect to rotate in our Emergency Department from other LCME approved medical schools.

Students are paired with senior emergency medicine residents during their 10-hour ED shifts. All students are encouraged to attend the high-quality, weekly emergency medicine residency conference.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Instruction

Directly supervised.
Prerequisites: Students must be matriculated in the four-year College of Medicine program leading to the MD degree.
Students must maintain current certification in CPR and successfully complete training and certification as CPR instructors.
