Patient Care

Emergency physicians provide care to patients with acute and life threatening illnesses. Serving more than 100,000 patients a year, UA Department of Emergency Medicine physicians offer a full spectrum of care for medical and surgical disorders, aiming to improve the short- and long-term health of the patient.

Working with 350 specialists at UMC and UPH Hospital at Kino Campus, emergency physicians provide immediate care to patients with heart attack, stroke, trauma and other acute medical and surgical conditions. 

The Emergency Department is an integral part of the only Level One trauma facility in Southern Arizona at University Medical Center, and provides nationally recognized services 24-hours a day, every day of the year.

The Emergency Department at UPH Hospital at Kino Campus continues the tradition of excellent service to residents in the southern part of Tucson and cities along the I-19 corridor.
